Over the past months, Rosendahl & Nextrom have focused strongly on extrusion materials with special demands and on advanced manufacturing technology. Cable manufacturing which requires the processing of high temperature materials (PEEK, PI and Fluoro-Polymers such as FEP, PFA, X-ETFE) have been further developed and show outstanding results, which are going to be presented during this year’s IWCS in Atlanta, Georgia.

Furukawa to Build Fibre Optic Unit in...

Japan's Furukawa is planning to locate its planned optical fibre assembly unit for Africa at Tangier, Morocco, according to media reports.

In May this year, the company had announced that it was "preparing for a new African base to cater to demand from the EMEA region", but did not specify the exact location or when the unit is likely to become operational. Demand for fibre optic cables in Africa and the Middle East is projected to grow to 32 million km in 2018, up on 18 million km in 2014, according to research cited in the reports.

Kerite Now Offering 2500 kcmil Power ...

Kerite, a U.S.-based manufacturer of medium- and high-voltage high-quality insulated power cable products, is once again manufacturing a 2500 kcmil 15kV power cable and has shipped its first order to Dayton Power and Light in Ohio.

Kerite previously manufactured the 2500 kcmil 15kV power cable, but stopped making it in 2005 due to lack of demand.  Recent customer inquiries, however, led Kerite to make the appropriate adjustments to the manufacturing line to once again offer it as part of the company’s specialty cable portfolio.

The UK government has given its approval for the development of Dogger Bank Teesside A&B, off the UK's east coast. The consent is offshore wind consortium Forewind's second approval following that of Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A &B in February this year. Both consented developments have a proposed installed capacity of 2.4 GW, making them the equal largest renewable energy applications ever to be approved in the UK, and together at 4.8 GW, the world's biggest planned offshore wind scheme.

In the first quarter of 2015 EuroMadem Spain conducted a customer satisfaction survey with 18 Wire & Cable manufacturing customers in 7 countries. 

EuroMadem received 10 (56%) responses from customers polled in three categories: bad, regular and good, 85,55% of responses falling into good categories (0% bad catagories). 

EuroMadem polled the following services: claim response, quantities shipped X received, documentation, deliveries, quality inspections, performance, and packing.
