India's Sterlite Technologies has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Elitecore Technologies, a global telecom software company, for an enterprise value of around INR 1.8 billion ($27.3 million) in an all-cash deal.

Established in 1999, and majority owned by investment firm, First Carlyle Ventures Mauritius, Elitecore is a global provider of software product and services delivering business support systems (BSS), Packet Core and Carrier Wi-Fi Solutions. Nexans to deliver umbilicals to the W...

Nexans has been awarded the contract to deliver 48km of static umbilicals to BP, and partner DEA, for the West Nile Delta Taurus Libra project in Egypt. The Taurus Libra development is a subsea project tied in to existing BG Group operated Burullus facilities, and the umbilical delivery forms an important part of this subsea development.

The umbilicals consist of electrical and fibre optic cables as well as hydraulic and chemical lines. They will be designed, engineered and manufactured at Nexans’ specialized subsea cable and umbilical facilities in Halden and Rognan, Norway. Nexans will also deliver accessories for this project. The delivery will take place in May 2016.

Nexans Delivers Submarine Fibre Optic...

Nigeria and Cameroon are to receive a boost to Internet connectivity after Nexans delivered Repeatered Optical Cables for the Nigeria-Cameroon Submarine Cable System (NCSCSC) in a contract with turnkey contractor, Huawei Marine Networks Co.Ltd. (Huawei Marine).

Nexans will supply approximately 1,100 km of the latest generation of Repeatered Optical Cables (ROC-2) and associated accessories for the project.

The Nigeria-Cameroon Submarine Cable System will deliver broadband to users in both countries by the end of 2015. The submarine cable system, which will be the first wholly owned by Cameroon, will have a capacity of 12.8 Tbps.
