The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold a June public hearing in Mandan on a proposal to construct the Oliver III Wind Project and associated electric transmission line in Oliver and Morton counties.

Oliver Wind III LLC, an indirect unit of NextEra Energy Resources, has submitted applications for permits for the Oliver III Wind Energy Center and an associated transmission line, the PSC said in a statement.

China Steel Corp. (中鋼), the largest steel maker in Taiwan, has raised its wholesale prices for July-August deliveries by more than 10 percent after a similar hike for June contracts in reflection of an uptrend in international steel product prices.In a meeting held Friday, China Steel decided to raise its domestic wholesale prices by NT$1,701 (US$52.18) or 10.3 percent per ton on average for deliveries scheduled in July and August.In April, China Steel hiked product prices in the local wholesale market by 10.5 percent per ton on average for June contracts, following a 3.1 percent increase for April-May contracts and a 2.3 percent hike for March deliveries.China Steel said that with internati ...

Peruvian steelmakers produced 99,418 mt of rebar in March, up 13.5% from 87,591 mt in the year-ago month, National Institute of Statistics, or Inei, data supported.Month on month, rebar production increased 12.5%% from 88,328 mt of February. Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd has chosen a consortium of Nexans and Siemens Transmission and Distribution Ltd to supply a transmission system to connect its new wind farm off the coast of Scotland to the grid. Nexans will deliver two complete 220 kV export cable circuits to help meet growing energy demands in the region. The development, once fully constructed and operational, could provide energy equivalent to the needs of more than 450,000 British households.
