Axjo America plans to invest $11.1 million and create 14 new jobs at a new manufacturing facility in Conover. The company expects to consolidate two current facilities into the new location.  Axjo America plans to purchase an existing 143,268 square foot facility in Conover and add new machinery and equipment that will allow the company to grow in size and increase product offerings to the cable industry. 

Axjo America located in Hickory in 2011 but has since outgrown their facility. After exhausting a search for suitable buildings in Hickory and other locations and states, Axjo selected the Conover facility as best location for the expansion. Axjo uses primarily recycled environm ...

Venezuela's Sidor sets recovery plan ...

Venezuela's largest steelmaker Sidor has received approval for its productive recovery plan from Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the company has said.The final goal of the plan is to produce 4 million mt of crude steel by 2018, Sidor said late Friday.The plan will have six steps: The first is already on course with the activation of the electric arc furnace N.1 of the billets area, also the resumption of the Line B of pellets, the Midrex I and rolling trains of wire rod and rebar."In the first month of this plan, we were able to produce 45,000 mt of crude steel, which were rolled into rebar and wire rod," said Sidor President Justo Noguera Pietri.

LGE Design Build started construction on a new 33,000-square-foot distribution center for WireMasters, a distributor of wire, cable and associated electrical components for cable harnesses serving the military, aerospace and defense industry.

The new distribution center, expected to be complete in early 2017, will serve the southwestern United States. Located at 1748 N. Higley Rd. in Mesa, the building will be near Boeing and other clients at Falcon Field Airport.

After establishing an office in Mesa only four years ago, WireMasters has grown to require the new building, which is about three times larger than its previous nearby leased space.
