Russian Federation aluminium titan U.C. Rusal announced the installation of a new rolling mill in its Kandalaksha Aluminium Smelter (KAZ) facility in Murmansk.
A part of the US$19.8-million casthouse modernization project being undertaken at the plant, the Properzi rolling mill is expected to turn out up to fifty thousand metric tons of value-added products each year. Among those products will be seven different sizes of wire rods ranging between 9 and 25 mm in diameter. This represents a significant expansion of wire production at the plant, as at the present time the only wire size it offers is 9 mm in diameter.

Huawei Egypt for Telecommunications and Information Technology is set to increase its investments in the Egyptian market, according to its strategy announced by the CEO of Huawei Egypt, Teri Liu, during a meeting with Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.
The two sides discussed the future plans of Huawei in the coming period. A consortium between Siemens and Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. has been awarded an HVDC order from Indian transmission operator Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) to supply a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system. The about 200 km long HVDC connection will be India’s first DC link featuring voltage-sourced converter (VSC) technology. Bell is expanding its fibre-optic network to more than one million homes and businesses across Montreal. The company will spend more than $850 million on the investment.
"We are sending a very clear message that Bell, which has been here since 1880, is taking a leading role and is being an extraordinary corporate citizen," said Mayor Denis Coderre.
Bell expects the investment will result in 2,700 new jobs, both with the Bell and its suppliers and support companies, with $2.2 billion in economic spinoffs.
