Wire Tech Planning To Triple Space in...

Business is booming for Summerville-based Wire Tech which is received a grading permit for a 40,000 square foot expansion of its facility at 11 Westside Industrial Boulevard in Rome. The Rome plant is currently located in 20,000 square foot building so the planned expansion will essentially triple the footprint in the West Rome.

The company hopes to break ground for the new addition before the end of the month with a six-month construction timetable. Momon Construction of Calhoun has been chosen as the general contractor.

Bedmaker, Harrison Spinks Invests In ...

Leeds-based bedmaker Harrison Spinks has invested £1.8m in a new wire drawing facility on British Steel’s site in Scunthorpe, which will lead to the creation of 22 new jobs.

The bedmaker will utilise a 40,000 sqft British Steel building to house two wire drawing lines, set to be installed at the end of April.

These lines will draw the ultra-fine wire used to manufacture Harrison Spinks’ pocket springs, using steel rod from British Steel. The investment will initially create nine jobs, with 13 more to follow when the bedmaker installs a further six wire drawing lines at the facility. E.ON has begun construction of a new onshore wind farm in Italy. Nineteen turbines of the three-megawatt class from the Danish manufacturer Vestas will provide clean energy in the future. The wind farm was the largest project awarded by the Italian government at an auction in 2016.

At the moment E.ON is building the roads and laying the foundations for the first wind turbines in the mountainous terrain around the communities of Morcone and Pontelandolfo. In the summer, the turbines will be installed, which will finally go into operation at the beginning of 2019.
