A new industrial project in Liwa is expected to create up to 1,200 new jobs for talented workers in Oman, one of the companies involved in the project has said.The Liwa Industrial Plastics Complex (LPIC) is currently being set up in the town of Liwa—some 250km from the capital, Muscat—and a half-an-hour drive from the industrial city of Sohar, with the objective of reducing the country’s dependency on money earned from oil and gas exports.The plant will help Oman, for the first time, to produce polyethylene, the form of plastic that has the highest global demand.“It is anticipated that 150 technicians and 350 operators will be required to manage the new facilities, wh ...

Prysmian Group, has been awarded a new contract worth approximately €21 million by IPTO (Independent Power Transmission Operator), the Transmission System Operator of the Greek electricity system, for two interconnections between the Cyclades islands (Evia, Andros and Tinos), Greece.

Corning To Build $60M Cable Plant In ...

Corning Inc. has signed up to be the first tenant in a new business park being built in southeast Hickory. The company and local officials announced plans for a $60 million plant to make cable for its Optical Communications division, creating up to 110 jobs.

City and Catawba County officials say the plant will be built on 27 acres at Trivium Corporate Center, between Robinwood and Startown roads. Local officials had been referring to the plan as "Project Wave" during negotiations with Corning.
