Wagner to lead The Wire Association International in 2018

The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. announces the appointment of Richard T. Wagner as president of the association for a one-year term that commenced on January 1, 2018. Wagner will serve as chairman of the Board of Directors and as the 65th president of the 88-year-old association, which is headquartered in Madison, Connecticut, USA.
 
A 40-year veteran in the wire industry Wagner joined the Wire Association International in 2013. In addition to his role as WAI president, and his forthcoming second term on the association’s Board of Directors Wagner will continue to serve on its Conference Programming Committee. He previously served as the co-chair of WAI’s Member Relations Committee.

He is the vice president and general manager at Insteel Wire Products, the nation’s largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications. He started with the company in 1992, and prior to that was Division Manager - FWC Supply, for Florida Wire and Cable Company, where he worked in various positions from 1977 to 1992. 
Wagner holds a BBA degree in management from the University of North Florida.
 
The Wire Association International, Inc. is governed by a network of volunteers from around the world.
