Corning To Build New Fibre-optic Cable Plant In Poland

The US-based company Corning Optical Communications (COC) plans to build a new facility for production of fibre-optic cable in Poland, reports Puls Biznesu. The new plant will be located in the town of Mszczonow in the county of Zyrardow in the Mazowieckie region. The investment will amount to PLN 366 million, and COC will get a PLN 17.5 million grant from a state programme to support important economic investments.
COC plans to employ at least 240 people in Mszczonow. The company will invest more than PLN 60 million in the project this year.
COC owns more than 100 plants and branches worldwide and also has a plant in Strykow outside Lodz. Almost 3,000 employees work there. COC also has its R&D unit in Poland.
